Anirudh Krishnakumar has a longstanding relationship with the MATTER Lab. He joined the Lab as a PhD student in March of 2016 and successfully defended his thesis on June 17, 2020 on the topic of mental health disorders and collaborative open science, through the Center for Research and Interdisciplinarity (now the Learning Planet Institute, Paris). He continued collaborations as a postdoctoral fellow of the ETH Library Lab in Switzerland, and is back at LPI. He is currently helping to manage projects of European stakeholders is their adoption of MindLogger and related informatics resources.

Anirudh’s research interests include empowering various stakeholders in the autism community to develop projects together in a more open model of scientific inquiry. He founded the CRI outreach program in Chennai, India, where students from different disciplines learn and apply innovative approaches in research and education on projects associated with mental health disorders.

The MindLogger mobile app platform was created by Arno Klein and developed by the MATTER Lab. Primary funding for the MindLogger project is provided by the Child Mind Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to children's mental health. Additional financial and feature support has been provided by the Learning Planet Institute in Paris, Hearst Foundations, NIMH, MIT, ETH Library Lab in Geneva, and Blanca & Sunil Hirani.
